A 10-year-old schoolgirl from has scored the highest possible score in a Mensa IQ test.
Aanya Gupta achieved a 162 in her test, surpassing the IQ score of world-renowned scientist Stephen Hawking, who is believed to have achieved 160.
The 10-year-old, who lives in Welwyn Garden City, received her score on Thursday, February 16 after taking the test the previous weekend.
Proud dad Himanshu Gupta said: “Aanya is a sharp kid. She has got scholarships from St Albans High School for Girls and got offers from St. Pauls, Dame Alice and Henrietta Barnett School.”
Along with her “sharp” mind, Aanya is also said to be a great singer and used to sing at the Barn Theatre in Welwyn Garden City prior to COVID. She is now learning to play the violin and flute.
Aanya was inspired to take the test after reading previous articles regarding young children attaining the highest possible Mensa test score for under 18s and wanted to see if she could achieve this as well.
